Depression? I think so. I believe it was Francis Fukuyama who said that every generation endures 2 recessions and 1 depression. All signs point to depression but nobody will say it. The prophets have been telling us for years now to prepare the best we can for disaster. Lets do our best to be prepared.

I love your posts! I don't have a lot friends that are interested in all this political stuff. Of course I am. And I think I am more so because I see all these things happening before my eyes that the prophets and apostles have been warning us about for years! Not to mention that my husband's career is influenced by the physical and financial support of Washington.
I SO AGREE with you on the bailouts and letting these companies who are in debt fall. HOWEVER, if you look at the big picture, not bailing them out (well, bailing the auto industry) will hurt so many people and our economy. It will hurt even those who have worked so hard and have no debt. So, it's one of those catch--22's. I think Mitt Romney had the best idea, he says let them fall a little (bankruptcy chapter 7) and get rid of the top people and put some better people in at the top.
Anyway, thanks for posting your feelings :). Hope you don't mind that I read them.

Hey there. Your wife reads my family's blog where my wife and I post. lately I've gotten political in my posts, and so your wife recommended i check out your blog.

I live in CA and worked hard to pass prop 8. Glad you hear you'd have supported it if you lived here.

Do you mind if I say something in regards to your voting republican for social reasons, despite your liberal views on economic policy? Until recently, I did the same thing. But I have gradually come to the realization that supporting democrats doesn't mean you're turning your back on important moral issues. I plan to to write a detailed post about this on my blog soon.

Check it out: marthahullinger333.blogspot.com.

I didn't know you were so politically minded OR that you had this blog. Very interesting. Chris & I are busy but always want to start a political blog for our rants. People try to understate the way this economy is going. We live in a society so against failing and we take away all consequences because we don't want anyone hurt. That is dangerous on so many levels and is much of the reason for this mess. You should invite me to your family blog stephtoone@gmail.com

Marrian: I agree with you and brother Mit, let them reorganize and become competitive. That would be fun! Do you think the Big 3 can become competitive WITH OUT reorganiztion?
Martha, I look forward to your blog and I admire you and your husband for being not-republicans! I look forward to your blog, keep 'em comming on mine please. That is just the question I am trying to figure our: does being democrat force you to turn your back on important social issues? Why do you think not?
Steph: Yeah, good to hear from you. Yes, it is disgusting, failure is a part of life, I know, I have failed before. There is a responsibility for to care for those who try but do fail- This is the obligation of society in general, some argue it is the responsibility of the Gov't. What do you think?
